This website presents our work. You cannot create an account, leave comments or buy anything here, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Visits
Like every website, our web server, run for us by our hosting provider VDX in the Netherlands, processes technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, the page you ask for, the date and time, and your browser type. We use this only to keep the site running and secure, and we do not use it to identify you.
Cookies
We do not place cookies or similar technology on your device to follow you. The one exception is the newsletter sign-up form, which is provided by Sender and is only loaded when you choose to open it; see Newsletter below. Should we add anything else that uses cookies, for example to measure visits, we will tell you here and ask for your consent first.
Fonts and other websites
The fonts on this site are served from our own server, so opening a page does not send your IP address to Google or to any other font provider. Links to other websites, such as videos on YouTube, take you to those sites; their own privacy policies apply from that moment.
If you send us an email, we use your address and your message only to answer you, and we keep them for as long as the conversation or the collaboration needs. We do not pass them on to others.
If you subscribe to the Michel van der Aa newsletter, we receive your email address. Your email address will only ever be used for the Michel van der Aa newsletter. We do not share your email address with outside parties. You can always unsubscribe by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter. Our newsletter is sent on average 6 times a year.
We use Sender to send the newsletter and to ask you to confirm your subscription. Sender processes your email address on our behalf, and may record whether you open the newsletter and which links you click. We only send you the newsletter if you have confirmed, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
The sign-up form on our Contact page is loaded from Sender's servers, but only after you click to open it. Before that, this website sends nothing to Sender. Once the form is open, Sender receives your IP address and may place cookies in your browser, for example to remember that you have seen or completed the form.
Newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe, after which we remove the address. Technical visit data is kept for a short period only. Emails are kept as long as we need them to deal with your message, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
You can ask us at any time to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to send it to you in a usable form. You can also object to its use, and withdraw a consent you gave. Write to md@doubleA.net and we will answer within one month.
If you feel we are not handling your data properly, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
